Hello!
We had our second meeting yesterday. There are about 9 of us going on this trip. 3 from Momentum, the remaining from RiverTree. We went over the tentative itinerary and it all seems much more real. We also gave Larry our money we have collected so far.. that made things even more real! We are going to hike up an inactive volcano called Pasachoa for Hike4Kids.
This past week has been such an upheaval and very difficult for me. I am not going to elaborate but I can feel myself retreating in like a turtle does and I am fighting it terribly. I am praying that God gets me out of this funk.
Thanks!!
The church I belong to, Momentum Christian Church has a very close relationship with RiverTree Christian Church. RiverTree Christian Church has partnered with a school in Ecuador, Nuevos Amigos, and I was invited to be a part of a team that will be going to Ecuador in November to serve the school and community. I will have the opportunity to see the two children I sponsor as well. I will use this blog to keep everyone, including myself, updated and record everything.

Meeting on Sunday 20th
Hey all!
It has been way too long since I last posted anything. I am getting excited but there is also this crazy nervousness coming on. Finances, of course, are what is troubling me. Need to send out letters and start being more open to receiving help.
We have a meeting this Sunday - Momentum folks are Lindsay, Patty, and I - and I am excited for it to be come more concrete. I need to talk about the Hike4Kids we are doing, after I get all the details.
Anyways, quick note while I am at work :)

Everything will work out!!
I know God has this in his hands. He will take care of me. This plumbing issue is a large issue, and I will need to go through my homeowner's insurance.
Prayer for me please!!
Love,
Amanda

Funds....
Hey all!
So my plan was to have some sort of Facebook Event or Page and add people to it in order to fund-raise by today. I did not, my procrastinator gene came out in full force.
But some things have been happening that are unexplained...
The Sunday I decided to go, I prayed to God in the morning to give me just one more sign. I hate that I doubt but I just get so nervous. The sermon was about not just saying you have faith but showing it. Doing good works. I knew then that I needed to say yes. I went out and found Lindsay and told her I was going. I got home that afternoon, checked my mail (which I do not do often), and found a check from Sylvania Automotive Lighting for 12 bucks! I know that is not a lot but it's a start. I felt like it was God saying - don't worry, I got this. I earmarked it for Ecuador.
Monday comes along, I was talking to Melissa Higey as I got home.. got the mail out of the mail box and there was a renewal policy for my home insurance from Liberty Mutual.. well, too bad I switched to Grange last November. I kind of panicked and ended up calling my mortgage provider and they confirmed that I paid Liberty and Grange last year. So I called Liberty and they said - no problem, you'll get a check for $820 in the mail in a week or so! How crazy is that?!?!??! I got a donation from a family member, and I received a card in the mail from someone I took to a wedding for half the hotel and gas money that I was not expecting. Also, I found Christmas money I had put away last year intending on depositing it. I am more than half way there!!!
How insane is that??!?! Thank you God for all the money seeds you planted in my life. I know money does not grow on trees but it feels like it's popping up like weeds in my life lately.
Now I know this is all the good stuff that is going on. That's not everything. I am struggling because I also have a leak in my bathroom floor that is going to my kitchen ceiling. I have to get that fixed but I have still earmarked all the money mentioned above to Ecuador. I know God has this.
Much Love

8.20 Thursday After
I am crazy excited, and get the hot nervous belly when I think of going to Ecuador. As the time gets closer, I know I am going to get so hyped up.
I pray for everyone who is possibly going to Ecuador.
I need to write to Jean Pierre and Jeremy to let them know I am coming. Hopefully they will receive the letters in time for my arrival!
I turned in my application to Larry on Tuesday. I really need to start the fundraising process. I was thinking of creating a Facebook Event or Facebook Page... not sure which one would work better.
Some crazy God-things happened on Sunday and Monday that told me God is saying - "Don't worry - I got you". I am so much less stressed about money. I am just excited now. I know there are tangible things I need to do to prepare but I feel that God's got this :)
Ta-ta for now!

Decision Made 8.16.15
Heya,
We had the first meeting a week ago Sunday, August 9th. I was mostly on the fence about it but knew I wanted to go. The biggest hiccup I ever have is money. When I did my first mission trip two years ago, I remember having many conversations with Lindsay (and others) about letting money be the least of your worries. At this point, it is my only worry. That should be a good thing!!
So I decided yesterday that I am going (which happens to be the same date I came back from Ecuador two years ago). Now that I have made the decision, I need all my ducks in a row. That's how I am, weirdly. I take a while to make the final decision then I have to have things planned right away :)
I am going to create a Facebook event, or possibly Fan Page, so please keep on the lookout for that and feel free to invite anyone!
